The Göran Gustafsson Postdoctoral Fellowships 2012

The Royal Institute of Technology invites applications for the position of post doctoral research fellow in experimental or theoretical nuclear physics. The experimental research programme addresses the physics of exotic nuclei and aims to test and develop nuclear models  in extreme conditions of isospin, angular momentum and deformation. A main emphasis of the experimental work lies in on gamma-ray spectroscopy using large Ge detector arrays and ancillary detector systems for charged particles and neutrons. Key research facilities for the group’s experimental programme are EXOGAM at SPIRAL, GANIL, the PRESPEC setup at GSI  and the JUROGAM/RITU setup at the University of Jyväskylä. The group is also heavily involved in the development, construction and use of the next generation European gamma-ray facility, AGATA (Advanced Gamma Tracking Array) and in preparations for experiments at the future FAIR facility within the NuSTAR and PANDA programmes.

We encourage applications from excellent candidates, having a Ph.D degree (or expecting to obtain it before June 1 2012) in experimental nuclear physics, who are interested in these projects.

Candidates should contact Prof. Bo Cederwall for further information about the positions and the application procedure, in due time before the application deadline, February 1, 2012.

Information on application formalities is given on the following web page:
